JOURNEY 10: Central Highlands Adventure: Waterfalls, Ethnic Culture & Jungle Trekking

DAY 1: MAJESTIC WATERFALLS & AUTHENTIC EDE CULTURE

08:30 AM – Hotel pick-up.

Your journey begins with a comfortable pick-up from your hotel in Buon Ma Thuot.

– Buon Ma Thuot Victory Monument.

An important historical landmark of the city, symbolizing the Central Highlands’ history and development.

– Scenic drive through coffee and cashew plantations.

Enjoy views of vast plantations while learning about the agricultural foundation of Vietnam’s coffee capital.

– Dray Nur Waterfall.

One of the largest and most impressive waterfalls in the Central Highlands. Guests can walk along the river, admire the powerful yet poetic scenery, and take stunning photos in a serene natural setting.

01:30 PM – Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, the journey continues to Dray Sap Waterfall.

– Dray Sap Waterfall & forest walk.

Enjoy approximately two hours of nature walking through pristine forest. The trail runs with the river on one side and steep cliffs on the other, leading to another beautiful waterfall where guests can relax, swim, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful forest atmosphere.

– Akodhong Village (Ede ethnic minority).

Explore a traditional Ede village famous for its long stilt houses. Guests can discover local daily life, visit flower gardens, vegetable gardens, coffee farms, and rice fields, and enter a traditional longhouse to observe weaving activities, where local children create brocade and brocatelle fabrics in the afternoon.

05:00 PM – Return to Buon Ma Thuot city center

DAY 2: LAK LAKE – ELEPHANT ENCOUNTERS & VILLAGE LIFE

08:30 AM – Hotel pick-up.

– Trung Nguyen Coffee Village.

Learn about Vietnam’s coffee heritage and the three main coffee varieties grown in the region: Arabica, Robusta, and Excelsa.

– Scenic drive through rubber plantations.

Along the way, learn about rubber trees and the tapping process that supports local livelihoods.

– Rock Mountain of Love.

A romantic natural viewpoint surrounded by beautiful landscapes, perfect for photos and short walks.

01:00 PM – Lunch with local specialties.

In the afternoon, travel to Lak Lake.

– Lak Lake.

A stunning natural lake formed by volcanic activity approximately 11 million years ago, surrounded by mountains and ethnic minority villages.

At Lak Lake, guests can:

– See and interact with local elephants.

– Feed them with bananas or sugar cane and take photos.

– Experience elephant riding (optional, at guests’ own expense).

– Jun Village and Le Village.

Walk through traditional villages to see long stilt houses, experience the peaceful daily life of ethnic minority communities, and learn about a simple lifestyle that has remained unchanged for generations.

Optional experience:

– Boat trip on Lak Lake (at guests’ own expense)

Enjoy a gentle boat ride offering tranquil views of the lake, surrounding mountains, and village life.

05:00 PM – Return to the hotel.

DAY 3: CHU YANG SIN MOUNTAIN TREKKING & FOREST ADVENTURE

08:30 AM – Hotel pick-up.

On the way to Chu Yang Sin Mountain, travel through:

– Rubber plantations, learning about rubber tapping and processing.

– Coffee farms and pepper gardens, gaining insight into local agriculture.

– Chu Yang Sin Mountain.

One of the most beautiful and natural mountain ranges in the Central Highlands.

Drive to the foot of the mountain, then begin trekking.

– Trekking through local farms and forest trails.

Walk through coffee, banana, and cassava gardens before following a natural mountain trail. The trek is safe but requires good physical fitness.

– Bim Bip Waterfalls.

The highlight of the trek, where nature has created three stunning natural swimming pools. Guests can swim in crystal-clear water, relax in a peaceful forest environment, and take spectacular photos.

Along the trek:

– Visit three natural waterfalls.

– Enjoy a picnic lunch beside a natural swimming pool.

– Walk along a small forest stream with large and small stones, natural rock formations, small caves, and untouched landscapes.

The trek continues close to the mountain summit before descending back to the parking area. This is a fully natural experience and an excellent physical activity for nature lovers.

04:30 PM – go to Buon Ma Thuột airport, bus station. Or return to Buon Ma Thuot, back at the hotel, guests are free to relax or explore Buon Ma Thuot city on their own in the evening.
